A few soul searching years... a couple of awards...and a burning desire to do more award winning works...
Career Development
After graduation in Chemistry taking physics and mathematics as subsidiaries with 65% marks in 1992, Shaji Kizhakathra went to Bangalore for doing Computer programming, which was then, a hype of the time. After mingling with advertising professionals there, he realised that he could do better in advertising and so decided to shift to the Ad world. But he didn't have any art school background, despite having in-born artistic skills (www.shajizone-art.blogspot.com). He moved to Dubai in 1996, started his career as a junior graphic designer at Ikon Advertising and Marketing, Sharjah and within 4 years he became an Art Director, as the agency had enough faith in him to handle Masafi creative, a big brand which is synomous with water in UAE. In the mean time he had won many laurels that includes London Advertising, New York Festival, cresta etc. Apart from a couple of awards in his own name, like one from Dubai Chamber of Commerce in 2001.
Then there was no looking back.. continued searching for his soul in advertising... tried to gather as much as possible from the market to understand the consumer psyche, and how to penetrate his stimuli more effectively into the communication world. He also keeps a very good rapport with professionals in the market. He learned 3D Graphics and Animation from GDI, Dubai and currently is doing MBA in marketing in Kensington University.
